03 — Frequently asked

What founders ask about crowdfunding.

01Is equity crowdfunding the right fit for my startup?

Equity crowdfunding works best for companies with: a recognizable consumer brand or a founder-led community, a clear use-of-proceeds story, and traction the audience can verify (real customers, real revenue, real shipped product).

It's also a strong fit alongside a parallel institutional round — many of our founders run crowdfunding to bring their community into the cap table while a tier-one venture-capital firm leads the institutional tranche.

02How much does it cost to run a crowdfunding campaign?

Platform fees range from 4 – 7.5% of the raise; Cyberonium's campaign-launch fee is fixed and scoped to the regime (typically $30K – $90K). For in-studio companies, we waive the launch fee and roll the cost into the founding cap-table economics.

03Will a crowdfunding round damage future fundraising with venture capital firms?

Not if it's structured well. Crowdfunding is a SAFE or single-class equity that rolls into the next priced round. We've supported 11 founders who closed a Series A from tier-one VCs within 18 months of a crowdfund — clean cap table, no signaling problems.

04What raise size makes sense for equity crowdfunding?

$250K to $5M is the sweet spot. Below $250K, the launch overhead outweighs the raise. Above $5M, you're in Reg A+ territory and the team and timeline get larger — but it's still very doable.

05How long does a crowdfunding campaign actually take?

10 weeks from kickoff to live page. The campaign itself stays open for 30 – 90 days. Most of our founders hit minimum within the first 72 hours because of anchor cheques warmed up during pre-launch.

06Can a non-US company crowdfund on US Reg CF?

You need to be a US-incorporated entity (typically a Delaware C-corp) to raise under Reg CF. Cyberonium handles the redomiciling or US holding-company structure as part of the campaign workstream when relevant.
